Re-focusing Family Service – May 2016
It’s just over two years since we started the 11am Family Service and the leadership team have been doing some thinking about how things are going. We ran a survey earlier in the year to find out what our congregation thought and here are some of the findings;
•We are very encouraged that about 40 adults and 30 children want to belong to St Luke’s Family Service and are attending at least once a month. (There are others who come less often as well)
•However, most of this group don’t think they can commit to being there every week and would prefer to come fortnightly.
Starting in June we’ll be changing to have Family Service twice a month, on the second and fourth Sundays. During the other weeks of the month there will be space to do other things together to help build the sense of community and to offer space for people to explore faith in more detail through small groups etc.
We will work hard to make sure people know about this change and plan to use texting, Facebook, the website and our notices to remind you when the services will be on. Please help us by ‘liking’ our Facebook page and by regularly checking what’s on the website.
We are pleased to announce that Canon Tony Walker officially joined us on 11th July to lead the ministry team after moving to our Parish from Retford. Welcome Tony!
